Smart Money Smart Kids: Raising the Next Generation to Win with Money

The Book: Smart Money Smart Kids Raising the Next Generation to Win with Money, by Dave Ramsey and Rachel Cruze

The Blurb: Dave Ramsey and Rachel Cruze teach parents how to raise money-smart kids in a debt-filled world. In Smart Money Smart Kids, financial expert and best-selling author Dave Ramsey and his daughter Rachel Cruze equip parents to teach their children how to win with money. Starting with the basics like working, spending, saving, and giving, and moving into more challenging issues like avoiding debt for life, paying cash for college, and battling discontentment, Dave and Rachel present a no-nonsense, common-sense approach for changing your family tree.

The Babble: As you’ll be reading more about in June, our family is jumping on the Total Money Makeover bandwagon beginning July 1 and this book is a big reason why. Neither Jack nor I grew up with a lot of extras but nor did we do without anything we needed. Ours were working families, a practice we fully intend to pass on to our children. However, we (mostly me) did make serious financial mistakes that not only affected our kid’s possible well-being, but is still effecting our future retirement. Wouldn’t it be great if we could break that cycle now and save our kids that possible prospect; especially in these young impressionable, discontented teen/pre-teen years? That’s our prayer and I believe Dave and Rachel have the plan to make it work.
