The Book: Seeker by Arwen Elys Dayton
The Blurb: Quin Kincaid has been put through years of brutal training for what she thinks is the noble purpose of becoming a revered ‘Seeker’. Only when it’s too late does she discover she will be using her new-found knowledge and training to become an assassin. Quin’s new role will take her around the globe, from a remote estate in Scotland to a bustling, futuristic Hong Kong where the past she thought she had escaped will finally catch up with her.
The Babble: Mystery, fantasy, folktale, realistic fiction and science fiction- this book has it all! Quin, Shinobu, and Maud are engaging protagonist and John and Briac are believable villains. I would love more back-story: how were the Seeker’s started, why is there discord among families and where did all this wonderful technology come from? With a little more depth, this series could be as good at Cassandra Clare’s Infernal Devices. Seeker is a good read and I look forward to the next installment of the series.
